My Bitcoin story started in 2017 when I was a freshman in college. My view at this time was much different than it is now. I was a young adult pinching pennies in college and saw Bitcoin as an investment with the potential to make my college life easier. I was right at the time, but I was wrong about what Bitcoin was. I lacked the understanding of the impact that Bitcoin can, and will, have on the world.
Fast forwarding to 2020 I began to fully realize the truth for what Bitcoin is. The immediate aftermath of the Covid pandemic was that Bitcoin lost 39% of its fiat value in one day (March 12th, 2020) but then rebounded to over $10,000 by May where it continued to rise. Over this time, I learned that a global recession couldn’t stop Bitcoin. I also learned through the billions of dollars being printed into the economy that Bitcoin was a hedge against inflation. After 2020 I gained a real-world sense of what Bitcoin was and my learning had only just begun.
Bitcoin is a rabbit hole of learning that once you dive in, you can never escape. The tunnels of thought, theory, and inevitability are infinite. After the pandemic, I doubled down on my knowledge quest. I read books such as Inventing Bitcoin by Yan Pritzker, The Bitcoin Standard and The Fiat Standard by Saifedean Ammous, and Softwar: A Novel Theory on Power Projection and countless articles and newsletters. I listened to every episode of The Café Bitcoin Podcast in 2022 where I immersed myself in the gospel of Bitcoin thought leaders and have also listened to most of the episodes of Coin Stories with Natalie Brunell. Learning about Bitcoin became a passion that I have never stopped pursuing.
I have also created a Bitcoin newsletter that I have posted weekly every week of 2024. I have also been working over the last couple of months as a Content Planner for Lightning Ventures, a Bitcoin syndicate that invests in promising Bitcoin Startups. While my main role is in creating marketing campaigns and planning social media content, I have also been involved in background operations and investment strategy.
My Bitcoin journey has taken me from viewing it just as an investment to the future of the world, the future of freedom, and an imminent force to save humanity from the clutches of inflation and poisoned fiat products. This shift in my understanding of Bitcoin has made me realize that I can no longer be a passive learner. I must be an active participator in the Bitcoin economy and industry to change the world for the better. My desire to be an active participator has led me directly to Swan Bitcoin. Consuming the content produced by Swan Bitcoin has been instrumental in my learning of Bitcoin and I want to join a team that cares so deeply about changing the world. This past Thanksgiving, I spent the majority of my time teaching my girlfriend’s family about Bitcoin and passed them the “Welcome to Bitcoin” introductory course. Since then, they have been successfully Orange-Pilled. The feeling of unlocking the mind of someone else so they can understand Bitcoin through a lens of “freedom” and not just "an investment" is as rewarding a feeling as I have ever experienced in the professional world.
