I grew up in in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Moved to Nashville, TN in 2010 to make a better life for myself and my family. Discovered bitcoin on IRC chat around that time but with starting over my life in a new place it was hard for me to wrap my head around it. When the drama at Mt Gox happened I really started paying attention because I lost access to a wallet that someone had showed me how to set up and sent me some bitcoin. That's when I start trying to understand it better. In 2013 I was trying to learn more CPU and GPU mining when I started reading articles about these new ASIC miners. Finally started mining bitcoin "unprofitable" Antminer S1's in 2014 because I had free power at the company workshop. Worked a blue collar job for 8 years where I wasn't fulfilled and my wife finally talked me into dropping everything and moving. I gave up a good stable job and two businesses to move across the country to start my own business in Colorado on hopes and dreams. The COVID19 pandemic put all that on hold the first month I was there, so I landed a data center technician job with Frontier Mining as my "plan B." That was the best decision of my life even though it didn't feel like it at the time. I was employee #7 and we grew that to 30 before I moved to Compass Mining. Now I'm currently taking over a new startup called Rebel Mining Company and we are currently building sites in Wyoming and West Texas with a headquarters in the Chicago area. We have over 100MW of capacity we are building this year.
